Male Infertility

Brief

A variety of disorders ranging from hormonal disturbances to physical factors and psychological problems can cause male infertility.

In many instances, male infertility emanates from testicular damage resulting into the inability of the testicle to produce sperms. Low sperm production and poor sperm quality are other leading causes.

Causes

Damaged Sperm Ducts

Researches by renowned scholars reveal that Seven percent (7 per cent) of infertile men cannot transport sperm from their testicles to out of their penis.

Torsion

This is a common problem affecting fertility that is caused by a supportive tissue abnormality which allows the testes to twist inside the scrotum which is characterized by extreme swelling.

Infection and Disease

Mumps, tuberculosis, brucellosis, gonorrhea, typhoid, influenza, smallpox, and syphilis can all cause testicular atrophy. A low sperm count and low sperm motility are indicators of this condition. People abusing anti-biotic drugs (Self-prescriptions and other over-the-counter drugs) when diagnosed with Sexually Transmitted Infections such Gonorrhea end up destroying their reproductive system.
